Board of Technical Education Kerala, Has a Released A Notification For Equivalency Test for the Lateral Entry Diplomaholders(admitted for 3 year course exempting first year)from other State Boards/Universities who wish to join the Lateral Entry B.Tech Courses.
Eligibility Criteria:
Any candidate who has been awarded the Diploma in Engineering by State Board of Technical Education of other States through Lateral Entry after undergoing regular course of studies in AICTE approved Polytechnics.The final year students of such Institutions are also eligible for appearing this examination.
Candidates who have been awarded Diploma by professional Bodies and Universities under Distant Education mode are not eligible for appearing this examination.
Subjects and Syllabus for the Test:
The subjects fixed for the equivalency test are:-
A.Technical Mathematics
B. Engineering Graphics
The syllabus prescribed for these subjects is the syllabus of 1stand 2ndSemesters of Diploma in Engineering Examination Revision 2010 scheme-02-followed in the Polytechnic Colleges in Kerala, which can be downloaded from the website: www.sitttrkerala.ac.in.
The candidates should register and appear for both the subjects and no piecemeal registration is allowed. The examination will be descriptive and the medium of questions is in English.Model question for the test will be published in the website: www.tekerala.org
Examination Fee :
The fee for registering the examination is fixed for both subjects is Rs. 2,000/- (Rs. 1000/- per subject). For SC/ST candidates fee is Rs. 1000/-for both subjects (Rs. 500/- per subject) [SC/ST candidates have to produce community/caste certificate obtained from the competent revenue authority.Candidates who failed in the previous examination will have to reappear for the failed subjects only.
Maximum marks for each subject is 100 and duration of the examination shall be 3 hours. The fee can be remitted in the bank account of the Joint Controller of Technical Examinations, Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram (SBT Shakthi Account no. 67154609791). The challanform can be downloaded from the website www.tekerala.org. Amount of Examination fee once remitted will not be refunded or adjusted towards thefee for subsequent examination. The fee remitted prior to the date of thisNotification will not be entertained.
Submission of application for Screening Test:
The eligible candidates can submit their application online through thewebsitewww.tekerala.orgfrom01-02-2017to18-03-2017.
For that,Candidates are requested to complete one time registration creatingusername & password through the websitewww.tekerala.orgEquivalency Test.
The login to the system using the user name & Password and update the details including fee and photo. The remittance of fee details should be furnished while submitting the online application.
After submitting the application online, the printout of the submitted application form, attested copies of the relevant documents and original challan should be forwarded to the Office of the Controller of Technical Examination by registered post/in person.
The application must be addressed to:-

The applications received after the last date will be summarily rejected.

The selected Polytechnic Colleges in the State will be the Examination Centre. The examination centre allotted to a candidate will be informed while releasing the admission ticket.

Admission tickets for the candidate will be issued/downloaded from the site at least 5 days before the date of the examination. Candidates appearing for the examination should produce their admission tickets along with the Aadhar Card before the invigilator for verification.
Issue of Certificate:
A candidate passed in both the subjects (Technical Mathematics & Engineering Graphics) will be issued Mark List and Equivalency Certificate in 3year Engineering Diploma in the concerned branch of State Board of Technical Education, Kerala by the Joint Controller of Technical Examination.Before issuing Mark lists & Equivalency Certificate the original Diploma Certificate of the candidate student issued by the respective Board of Technical Examinations should be produced before the Joint Controller of Technical Examinations for verification.
